Lava Introduces Xolo X900, First Intel Based Smartphone in the World

After was reported before, smartphone that based Intel Atom "Medfield" was finally launched on the market. Lava International, a mobile handset company from India has introduced the first smartphone based on Intel Atom Meldfield, Xolo X900.


Lava working with Intel launching a smartphone-based Intel Atom and will be available in Indian market on 23 April at price of $ 422.

"Through Xolo X900 smartphone, we are pleased to bring India phone to to meet their needs who want to have phone with fast performance. Xolo X900 initial review was very positive."said Vishal Sehgal, founder and director of Lava International.

As previously reported, Lava decided to produce smartphones based on the design that referenced by Intel. Finally Xolo X900 smartphone was born.

Xolo X900 is powered by Intel Atom Z2460 SOC (System on Chip) with  speed of 1.6 GHz to ensure excellent performance.

Smartphone made by Lava comes with PowerVR graphics that support  OpenGL ES 2.0, PowerGL 2.1 with speeds of 400MHz, and hardware acceleration support for its ability to play 1080p high definition video.

This smartphone support 3G/HSPA +, thanks to Intel 6260 Communication Processor chip and 8MP resolution camera. For now, Lava Xolo X900 will use Android 2.3 Gingerbread as its operating system. But the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will soon be available through the upgrade OTA (Over The Air).

As quoted from XbitLabs, Xolo X900 battery life can last up to 5 hours if it is used for 3G browsing, 45 hours for audio and 8 hours for phone call.
