Nokia Releases 3 Asha Phone without Physical Keyboard

Nokia launches three new Asha mobile phones that run with S40 operating system, ie, Asha 305, Asha 306 and Asha 311. All of them became the first S40 phone that features full touch screen. Previously, Nokia Asha series has implemented touch screen interface, but still include the "physical keyboard". Nokia targeting the youth segment who are hungry for entertainment, particularly gaming, internet, instant messaging and social networking sites.

Nokia promises users who purchase one of three new phones Asha, will get 40 free games from EA, as well as Angry Birds from Rovio. To support the internet connection, Nokia will give Nokia Browser 2.0 browser application, which is claimed to save the use of internet data up to 90% from the previous version of Nokia Browser.

Nokia still keep producing devices with Symbian OS. Not long ago, Nokia has just released two dual SIM phones at cheap prices. It seems that Nokia does not want to give away the throne as king of the mobile phone in the world to Samsung, which just beat Nokia as the number one mobile phone company this year.



Nokia released Nokia 110 and Nokia 112. Both phones are aimed to young people and targeting the urban areas. Indeed, those two devices are not smartphone. Both devices have 1.8-inch screen, 0.3 MP VGA camera, external memory up to 32GB, Bluetooth and supports the ability of two SIM cards simultaneously (dual SIM card).

This device runs on S40 (Symbian) and comes with Nokia Browser which can compress the data to compress the data consumption.

Nokia phones that are embedded with monster camera 808 PureView will go on sale. According to the plan, in May this phone will enter two countries.

Russia and India are believed to be the two first country that can tested the ability of 808 Pureview. Nokia itself has not issued official price of Nokia 41 MP, but Italian retailers have started to pre-order at a price of 599 euros.

808 PureView have been much discussed since its carries powerful 41-megapixel camera. No doubt, its became one of the stars at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.

Beat Apple and Nokia, Samsung is World's Phone Leader

For the first time, sales of Samsung beat Nokia. South Korean vendors even managed to beat the dominance of Apple with its iPhone in smartphone market. As quoted by BBC, research firm Strategy Analytics reported global mobile phone sales until the end of first quarter of 2012. In the report, sales of mobile phones from Samsung managed to beat the sales of Nokia and Apple mobile phones.


This report was little surprising because Nokia phone sales were unbeaten since 1998. At the report, Samsung  mobile phone sales reached 93.5 million units. Samsung had 25.4 percent of market share.

At the same time, Nokia only sold 82.7 million units, or had only 22.5 percent market share. While Apple sold 35.1 million units with 9.5 percent market share.

Latest version of Nokia Browser is capable to reduce consumption by 90 percent because it use cloud technology that can speed up the process of browsing. From main screen browser, users can surf the content of the web with just one click from home page. Nokia also refine its download manager features so the users can easily manage external content and can store songs or pictures in memory card while continuing to surf on the internet.



"With this latest version, we create a new browsing experience, faster and better," said Dieter May, Senior Vice President of Mobile Phones Services, Nokia, in press release, Tuesday (24/4 / 2012).
